Ukraine Prentation #2
Jan Ferreiro
I enjoyed every presentation as they all presented the challenges of living in Ukraine during this war and the challenges they will face soon. The situation abroad is only worsening and as a result of this many have fled to neighboring countries and presented many problems because of this worsening humanitarian crisis. Everyone did a great job at giving a good perspective of the Ukrainian people and the challenges they need to overcome to live something of a stable life and continue some sort of forwarding progress throughout the country through the war. I think my group did a great job at presenting the hardships that come with educational displacement because of all the students abroad who end up in a completely different country and have their educational progress completely stunted. I personally presented the hardships teachers are going through while trying to teach the next generation during the war. This is important because this is an ongoing war and who knows how long it will go on, so children need to continue to be taught. While researching I was astonished at just how bad things are for them and realized they are actual heroes for doing what they do. Between teaching in bomb shelters underground, dealing with constant air raid sirens, and children unexpectedly missing class and being presumed dead. The destruction caused by the Russian army is horrific and something we have not seen in a very long time, long before the era of social media and television to keep people informed and aware of what’s going on around the world. The other 2 presentations were great, and I thought group 1 did a good job at communication and keeping the presentation fluid and not boring. Many important topics were discussed and raising awareness for Ukraine during this time of need is extremely important as I believe it is a civic duty of ours as more fortunate people to help and empower Ukraine during a time of need and unrest in the country. Ukraine has faced oppression at the hands of Russia for many years and it has all culminated in this war and this invasion that has brought so many people so much misfortune and loss as well as setback Ukraine for many years not just by the consequences of losing but also the aftermath if they win and keep their freedom. So much destruction is going to take a massive amount of money and labor to fix and bring the cities back to an operational state or inhabitable which now they are not due to the targeting of key infrastructures by the Russian army although they have repeatedly said that such a claim is untrue. Raising awareness of these atrocities is very important for relief and aid but also for preparing us for the next world event that could use future leaders who know how to raise awareness and really help prepare and relieve the people at the front lines taking the brunt of the war, and that’s why I believe this project is very important and what I thought of the presentations.
Really nice reflection of the presentions.
