CONSEQUENCES OF WAR IN UKRAINE

The second class presentation was, in my opinion, a huge success. The assigned theme was "Consequences of War in Ukraine." We were told that the project should include: study on the topic, ideally from credible historians, researchers, and the press; a comparison of American and (in our case) Ukrainian perspectives; and local and national associations and organizations participating. According to what I gathered, all three groups met the prerequisites for a great presentation. In addition, we were instructed to create study aids based on given chapters. I was pleasantly impressed by how well-organized and structured they were; this made understanding the chapters much simpler and easier.

Theme presentations are a terrific method to learn new things whether you are presenting or listening. I personally enjoy working on these projects since I believe it is one of the finest methods for me to learn. Nonetheless, I must acknowledge that the assigned topic was sad and difficult to investigate. However, this does not negate the fact that I am grateful for what I have learned. It is sometimes necessary in life to force oneself to understand and learn about the sorrowful side of the universe. This is vital because you not only break out of your "comfort bubble" by recognizing what people in other parts of the world are going through, but it is also a great way to sympathize and work for a better future. We emphasized on how the invasion of Ukraine has already resulted in indiscriminate attacks on residential areas, schools, hospitals, social infrastructure, and other civilian objects and infrastructure, resulting in civilian deaths and injuries. Furthermore, there is widespread displacement and the damage of civilian homes. The first group concentrated on immigration-housing, the second on education for children and university, and the third on health care (physical and emotional). All three presentations were eye-opening since they demonstrated the difficulties that Ukrainians face. Knowing and understanding their hardship and tribulations made me appreciate how good and uncomplicated my life is, as well as the unpredictability of what can happen next. Going through a war has to be one of the most agonizing experiences one can have, and seeing the situation in Ukraine further fueled my desire to help. As a result, I am grateful that all three groups highlighted ways and organizations through which any of us can assist.

In conclusion, as difficult and painful as creating this presentation was, it was a tremendous opportunity to learn more about what is going on in the globe. After all, we all share our beautiful planet, and it is critical that we learn how to communicate, share, defend, and aid one another. I believe the class did a wonderful job of presenting this difficult information. Furthermore, everyone was as respectful and kind as always, which was really appreciated. I hope you liked my second experience listening and presenting in my speech class as much as I did. Despite the fact that I believe we can all do better, I think we all did a fantastic job.
