Communicating in Groups

    All of the presentations on Tuesday were really good. group 2, which is my group, talked about different ways to communicate in groups which was chapter 9. To me, everyone in my group did an amazing job. The video that Michael did to start the presentation was excellent and it was an excellent way to introduce the class to our chapter.  Group one had an amazing presentation. Other than ours they were one of my favorites. I liked how they talked about different cultures. They talked about foods, religion, traditions, and many other things. How we might come from the same ethnic group but our costumes and beliefs are all different and special in their own unique way. Also, when they talked about disabilities. How that should not be a reason why people should be treated differently. The examples and videos that they showed were great. I feel that they backed up all of their information really well and it had really good visuals. Group three also did great with their presentation and explained their chapter and their information really well. My favorite part was when they talked about different roles that people have when working with groups and the importance of each of those roles. I thought that because each presentation had to be almost an hour that I would become bored because of all the information, but I was actually really engaged and interested in what everyone had to say. I believe that we all in group two worked well together and our overall presentation was really good. All three chapters were all really interesting to read and had useful information. I overall liked the way that the information in chapter nine was explained. It was easy to understand. The way that I prepared for this presentation was that after reading my section I made annotations to make it easier for myself to comprehend everything that i had just read. Then I went on the internet and looked up things that were related to my topic to get other information and other opinions that were not in the book but were on trusted websites. Looked up pictures that were related to the things that I was writing down. I also made myself index cards to better memories what it was that I was going to say. I practiced making sure that I would not talk too fast and not stutter on the day that we were presenting and making sure that everything was as smooth as possible.

It was all overall a great experience to have and I hope all presentations to come are like this. i think that by having this as our first presentation was a good way to get used to presenting and a good way to introduce the class and what is going to be about and what we should expect. After the second presentation was explained I realized that it ties to the first one that we did. Which I think was really well executed. To sum everything up I believe that this class and the presentations that we do are going to help us for the future to better communicate with people. Is going to make us more comfortable in speaking in public places and with different people.
